Founded back in 1985, the BJCP is arguably one of the most well-known beer certifications available. Whether you’re a professional brewer or an ordinary, everyday beer lover, this certification will help refine your knowledge and understanding of the world’s diverse beer, mead and cider styles.
BJCP exams are hosted twice a year by the Hong Kong Beer Judge Association (hkbjcp.org
), with pre-exam courses available at homebrew hub HK Brewcraft (hkbrewcraft.com
). Cicerone Certification Program
Going one step further, the Cicerone Program is best suited for beer professionals aiming to help elevate their consumers’ enjoyment and experience with beer.
There are 4 levels within the program: Certified Beer Server, Certified Cicerone, Advanced Cicerone and Master Cicerone. There are currently only 18 Master Cicerones in the world!
The Beercierge Program
Newcomer The Beercierge Program was established in 2018 to ‘help improve the standards of beer excellence at retail through knowedge, salesmanship and hospitality’. Their focus is on beer education at a retail level to help create better beer advisors.
There are 4 levels within the program: Apprentice Beercierge, Certified Beercierge, Advanced Beercierge and Master Beercierge.CraftBeer.com
